Went with the Black and White HDR on this Historic Park shot – figured it worked better with age .  A little tidbit about Hopewell Furnace…

Hopewell Furnace showcases an early American industrial landscape from natural resource extraction to enlightened conservation. Operating from 1771-1883, Hopewell and other “iron plantations” laid the foundation for the transformation of the United States into an industrial giant. The park’s 848 acres and historic structures illustrate the business, technology and lifestyle of our growing nation.

Just playing around with the off focus on the Sony DSC-HX100V.  I loved the flowers at this place.  There were beautiful lily’s everywhere!

First time I finally found bracket mode (didn’t realize it was restricted to certain functions).  Also the first time I played with the Photomatix software.

I liked this old sundial on the island. It gave me a chance to play with the focus functions of the HX-100V.

This was my first attempt with the Sony to capture fireworks. I didn’t know the height, so as you can tell, I kinda missed it. I also wasn’t a fan of the built-in fireworks mode, so this is a 7.0 second shutter. I think it turned out much better than the built-in 1.5 second shutter.

Overlooking Lake George near Lake George, NY. It was a little pull off on the way to the cabin. I did my best not to sideswipe the bikers as I quickly pulled in with our swagger wagon.

In Stone Harbor, NJ there’s a piece of beach called ‘the point’. It’s the last stretch of land before water separates the Avalon/Stone Harbor island and the Wildwood area. This was taken back there near sunset overlooking some larger tide pools. It was my first day with the Sony HX100-V camera, so I was rushing around trying to grab all the sunset pictures I could.
